Blue Hubbard is the biggest and ugliest of squashes.
When you pull it out of the oven it can be compared with a big black turkey or a giant baked sea turtle. Both of which are quite lovely when alive....

Terrifying is a small word to describe its horrific freaky grotesqueness. And strangely,for nature I mean, it is not he best tasting squash. Not bad, but it's like the tofu of the winter gourds.
